5Rules for Easy Puzzle Fill the boxes so that
the digits 1 4 appear exactly once in each row,
each column, and each block.
6Lets start with 3s because we two of them
7This box must contain a 3.
8If we continue looking at 3s, what else can we
tell?
9This box must also contain a 3. Notice that we
have one three in each column and each row. We
have found all the 3s.
10Look at this column. What can we tell about the
missing blocks?
11These are the only choices for these boxes.
12Whats missing from this row?
13This box must contain a 4.
14We can easily tell what fits in this box.
15This box must contain a 4.
16Where must the fourth 4 go?

28Rules for Medium Puzzle Fill the boxes so that
the digits 1 6 appear exactly once in each row,
each column, and each block.
29Lets begin with 2s since we have two of them on
the same half of the puzzle.
30This must be a 2.
31Now lets look at 1s because we have three of
them.
32This must be a one.
33Can you tell where the other two 1s must go?
34The 1s must go in these places. We have now
placed all the 1s!
35Lets go back to the 2s. Where do the remaining
2s go?
36The 2s must go in these positions.
37Now look at the places where we have 4 out of 6
in a row or column. From this we can tell what
the other two choices must be.
38What goes here?
39A 3 must go here because it is the only open
place for it.
40What goes here?
41The only numbers available for the box are 4 and
6. Two sixes cant be in the same row, so the 4
must be next to the six.
42What goes here?
43These must be 5 and 6.
44Why must these be right?
45We now have enough information to complete the
top left block. What does it look like?
46Why must these be right?
47Look at this column. What are the missing
numbers? Where do they fit?
48Why must these be right?
49Now we know what these must be.
50You may not have two 3s in the same row, so this
is correct.
Complete the middle block on the left side.
51These were the only possible choices.
Now finish the bottom block on the left side.

53Are you ready for a challenge?
Rules for Hard Game Fill the boxes so that the
digits 1 9 appear exactly once in each row,
each column, and each block.
54Lets start in the middle where we have the most
information. What numbers are missing from the
center block? Figure out where they go.
55The 5 must go in the corner. So, the 4 must go in
the middle, and the 6 must go top-left.
56Lets continue with 5s. Remember, you need one 5
in every row, every column, and every box.
57Here are all the possibilities for 5s. We have
a lot of 1s lets look at those next.
58Remember, you need one 1 in every row, every
column, and every box.
59Look weve found all the 1s!
60Look at the bottom row. Whats missing? Can you
figure out where the numbers go?
61Youre doing great!
Now lets look at 6s.
62Four of the open boxes should contain 6s. Can
you tell which ones?
63The blank in the 8th row must be a 6, and the
blank in the 3rd column must be a 6. Then we can
tell that row 2, column 6 must be a 6, and column
2, row 7 must be a 6.
64Look at the block on the bottom left. Only two
numbers are missing. Figure those out.
65Now look at the bottom middle block. You can fill
those in.
66Looking good! Try column 7.
67Isnt this fun? Try row 1 but you have to do
column 6 at the same time.
68That wasnt too bad. Lets finish the top middle
block.
69Were closing in fast. Finish rows 2 and 3.
70Try the left-middle block!
71Did you get it right? Finish rows 4 and 6.
72Finished!!!
