- Documents
- White Contribution 1
- Delayed Contributions 11(7 from Asia Pacific
region countries) - Temporary Documents 87
8The 2nd SG19 meeting Executive Summary(1/2)
- A draft Recommendation Q.FNAB Functional
Network Architecture for Systems Beyond IMT-2000
version 3.0 was produced. It was scheduled to
complete by 4Q 2005. - The meeting agreed to introduce a new chapter
Functional Information Flows into Q.MMF
Mobility Management Framework and Functional
Architecture for the Systems Beyond IMT-2000.
The new version of Q.MMF was developed. - A new document Q.MMR Mobility Management
Requirements for Systems Beyond IMT-2000 was
introduced as a way to capture any new
requirements. It was scheduled to complete by 1Q
2006.
9The 2nd SG19 meeting Executive Summary(2/2)
- The meeting approved inputs of ARIB, ATIS, CCSA,
ETSI and TTC for draft new Recommendation IMT
2000 References to Release 6 of GSM evolved UMTS
Core Network. It was scheduled to propose for
AAP Consent at the 3rd SG19 meeting. - The meeting clarified that the scope for Fixed
Mobile Convergence in draft new Recommendation
Q.FMC stage 2 is limited to the use of wired and
wireless access technologies in conjunction with
IMS-based Core Networks.
10The 3rd ITU-T SG19 Meeting
- Date 5-9 September 2005
- Venue ITU Montbrillant, Geneva, Switzerland
- Attendee 40 (20 countries)
- Documents
- Delayed Contributions 12(8 from Asia Pacific
region countries) - Temporary Documents 68
11Approval of Draft Recommendation
- The following Recommendation was consented for
AAP (Alternative Approval Process) in accordance
with the rules of Recommendation A.8 - Q.1741.4 IMT 2000 References to Release 6 of
GSM evolved UMTS Core Network
12Key Results of Q.1
- Q.1 Service and network capability requirements
and network architecture - Key results
- The meeting agreed to support moving network
function on the Systems Beyond IMT-2000 based on
the contributions and discussions at the meeting.
- The draft Recommendation Q.FNAB version 4.0 was
developed to include the above function and other
modification. - Its completion date is postponed from 4Q 2005 to
3Q 2006 because the current draft is not mature
for proposed to AAP Consent at next SG19 meeting.
13Key Results of Q.2
- Q2 Mobility management
- Key result
- The draft Q.MMR was enhanced in the areas of
mobility management features and the requirements
for inter-CN and inter-AN and intra-AN mobility
management. A requirement was added on support of
private IP address domains. Mobility definitions
have been harmonized with Q.6/13. - The draft Q.MMF was enhanced in the areas of
Location Update, Registration, Query and Reply. A
new section was added on Paging Management.
14Key Results of Q.3
- Q.3 Identification of existing and evolving
- IMT-2000 systems
- Key result
- A draft new Recommendation entitled IMT 2000
References to Release 6 of GSM evolved UMTS Core
Network was consented for AAP as a ITU-T
Recommendation Q.1741.4. - The following new draft Recommendations is planed
to be proposed for AAP Consent in the next SG19
meeting to be held 23-27 January 2006. - Q.1742.5 IMT 2000 References (approved as of 30
June 2005) to ANSI-41 evolved Core Network with
cdma2000 Access Network

- Key result
- The meeting reviewed input contribution and
agreed to introduce a new chapter on emergency
communications into the second Edition of
Handbook on IMT-2000. - The completion of the second edition of Handbook
is scheduled for 2Q2006.
16Key Results of Q.5
- Q5Convergence of evolving IMT-2000
- networks with evolving fixed networks
- Key result
- The draft Q.FMC stage 2 was extended with new
sections on high level principles and support for
Voice Call Continuity. An annex was added that
provides an Enterprise Role Model as the basis
for identification of the prime inter-domain
interfaces for FMC. - The mobility management and FMC related sections
