  • This is achieved by allowing students to dual
count 12 credit hours or more of 5000- or
6000-level courses towards both the BS and MS
requirements in EE, CpE, and CS.
  • Provides financial support for qualified students
to earn the BS MS degree in five years.
  • Started in 2005 now 45 students

UC BerkeleyFive Year Bachelor/Master's Program
EECS
  • The Five Year Program is not intended for those
who wish to pursue a Ph.D.
  • Focused on inter-disciplinary study and more
experience in aligned technical fields such as
    Physics, Materials Science, Statistics, Biology,
etc., and/or professional disciplines such as
Management of Technology, Business, Law and
    Public Policy.
  • If admitted to the program, students must begin
the graduate portion in the semester immediately
following the conferral of the Bachelor degree.
  • Only one additional year (two semesters) beyond
    the Bachelor degree.
  • Only available to Berkeley EECS and LS CS
    undergraduates.
  • Participants in program are self-funded.

University of Mass. LowellECE Combined B.S./M.S.
Program
  • Outstanding undergraduate students may pursue a
combined B.S./M.S. degree in either electrical or
computer engineering, achieving both degrees by
    the fifth year of study
  • Students must make a commitment to the B.S.
Eng/M.S. Eng program before the end of their
    junior year
  • must take two 500-level graduate courses as their
technical electives in their senior year.
  • If the grades in these courses are "B" or better,
they will count toward the M.S. Eng as well as
    the BS Eng degrees.

7
UC Santa CruzB.S. / M.S. CompE
  • Students who have already graduated (or will
graduate in one or two quarters) and students
from CS, EE, or other majors are not eligible.
Ineligible students are encourage to apply for
    the standard M.S. in CompE.
  • The B.S./M.S. program does not allow
undergraduate courses to be applied to the M.S.,
while the standard M.S. program currently allows
two upper-division undergrad courses to count
    toward the degree.
  • The B.S./M.S. student must complete 48 units of
graduate courses that fulfill the standard M.S.
degree requirements. No undergraduate courses may
be used to meet the M.S. degree requirements.
  • Up to 10 units of these graduate courses can be
counted toward both the B.S. degree and the M.S.
    degree.
