  • Check the weather channel.
  • Currently Wednesday afternoon partly cloudy high
    of 74
  • Good ideas include
  • Jacket
  • Long/short sleeve shirts
  • Long pants
  • Light rain jacket
  • Insects? Of Course!

  • What you can bring (with headphones)
  • Radios
  • CD players
  • MP3 players
  • What you can bring (but not recommended)
  • DVD players
  • Gaming systems
  • Expensive cameras
  • What you cannot bring
  • Cell phones
  • Two way radios

How Much to Pack
  • Only bring 1 suitcase (name labeled)
  • Be careful of the size
  • Be sure one member in the group packs an alarm
  • Only bring 1 carry on bag (name labeled)
  • Be careful of the size

How much money do I need?
  • Technically . . . None
  • Parent decision
  • Be wise
  • Credit Card???
  • Too much leads to trouble and junk being brought
    home or wads of candy.
  • Only requirement is a sack lunch on Wednesday.
  • All needs are met

Chaperones
  • At least 1 chaperone per 10-15 students
  • Chaperones stay with children the entire time
  • They do not ride in their own car.
  • They help ensure safety on the trip

Can I get in trouble?
  • It is school away from the grounds of MMS
  • There will be an administrator going on the trip.
  • Students are representatives of their school and
    community.
  • If behavior warrants, parents can be called to
    come get their child in Savannah at parents
    expense.

Safety
  • The chaperones will be with the students the
    entire time.
  • There are security guards on every floor we have
    students on.
  • Students are taped in the room at night.
  • What if there is a fire
  • Yes . . . Its okay to leave the room
  • Pay attention what PJs are brought!

What if someone gets hurt?
  • A trip to the emergency room
  • Been there more times than I want.
  • Student will go with me and the A.P. and parent
    will be notified.
  • Every student should have a copy of their
    insurance card.
  • If no insurance student should have the waiver
    signed.
  • No waiver or insurance no trip

What if my child needs medicine?
  • For prescription medicines and over the counter
    medicines there needs to be a Request for School
    Staff to Administer Medicines form or JGCD-E-1
    filled out.
  • Medicines can be put in a ziploc bag with
    directions and given to the chaperone the morning
    of the trip.

  • We will be staying at the Best Western Bradbury
    Suites, 155 Bourne Avenue, Pooler, Georgia, 31322

What time do I need to be here Wednesday?
  • Plan to arrive at MMS at 630 am Wednesday
  • Have students check in with chaperone
  • Have students begin loading busses
  • The 3 busses should begin rolling at 730
  • We get back Friday 5pm
  • If there is a delay call ext 2111
  • There will also be a note on the front door.
