Introductions and Overview
  • Data Recognition Corporation (DRC) and
    Computerized Assessments Learning (CAL) are the
    new vendors for the ISAT program.
  • Spring Operational Administration
  • April 16 May 11, 2007
  • Makeups allowed May 14 18, 2007
  • Reading, Language Usage, and Mathematics at
    grades 2 10 retesters at grades 11 and 12
  • Science at grades 5, 7, 10
  • Grade 2 Pilot Study - all students must
    participate
  • All tests have 35 45 multiple choice items
    split into 2 parts (except mathematics)
  • No time limit plan for 90 minutes to complete
    both parts of the tests
  • Practice Tests and Tutorials are now available

  • Technology Coordinators
  • Configure student computers to support testing
  • Update all student computers with new release of
    testing engine
  • Release date March 26, 2007
  • Automatic update when students log in after 3/26
    (depending on administrator setups see handout)
  • LCS users will have to uninstall and install new
    release
  • Use School Capacity Calculator to schedule testing

What if?
  • If the computers at your school or district do
    not meet these requirements, then you should
  • Upgrade the systems to meet the requirements, or
  • Investigate alternate testing locations which
    meet the minimum system requirements
  • Note The paper and pencil administration is an
    accommodation and is only available for special
    education, English Language Learners (ELL) and
    Section 504 students.

    deleted from CAL system (from December Field
    Test). District must notify DRC by March 16th.

  • SPEX code requirements changed for spring
  • Edit current student data

  • Student data should be updated by March 30, 2007
  • New students can be added at any time, ticket
    will be available immediately
  • Edits are allowed through the end of the testing
    window (May 18, 2007) NOTE Once students begin
    testing, cant change grade
  • Students needing Accommodated Materials should
    have been identified by March 2, 2007

    students only
  • A Test Session Ticket is required for each part
    of a content area test.
  • Reading, Language Usage, and Science 2 parts
    each
  • Mathematics calculator/noncalculator parts,
    total of 4 parts (3 tickets for grades 3 and 4)
  • New for spring Tickets can be imported and
    printed on labels, card stock, etc
  • Tickets will be available to print beginning
    April 2nd

  • All administrators, teachers and proctors must
    complete the Test Security Agreement (found in
    TAM)

Test Security
  • All Test Session Tickets, math reference sheets,
    and scrap paper are secure materials and must be
    collected after testing is completed
  • Pause function used for brief emergencies
    (restroom break)
  • Inactivity for longer than 15 minutes during
    testing will cause the system to log off the
    test.
  • Teachers/Proctors are not allowed to login
    students without students being in the room to
    verify attendance.

  • Student Login Process
  • Student Test Session Tickets
  • Ticket is used for one content area only.
    Students taking multiple content areas will need
    multiple Test Session Tickets.
  • Ticket is a live, secure material and must be
    distributed and collected as such.

  • Reactivations student can log back in using
    same Test Session Ticket within 90 minutes of
    initial login.

Accommodated Materials
  • Special Accommodated Materials are available for
    those students whose IEP requires an assessment
    that is not presented on a computer
  • Large Print, Braille, and Paper versions are
    available
  • Audio is not available
  • Students were coded on the Student Editor by
    March 2, 2007
  • DRC will provide districts with precoded student
    labels for the answer documents
  • Schools are responsible for transcribing student
    responses to answer document if necessary.
  • Districts will receive materials by April 6, 2007

  • Possible reasons for invalidations are found in
    the ISTP Test Coordinators Guide
  • The building principal must determine if test
    should be invalidated
  • Invalidations are made in the Student Editor by
    content area

  • No reporting will be provided for Grade 2 pilot
  • Districts will receive notification from DRC with
    user name/password to access score reports/data
    files
