TIME TABLE
  • 3 ORIENTATION SESSIONS these will cover,
    Mandatory Reporting Manual Handling and Standard
    Precautions

  • CLINICAL PRACTICE
  • Total of 4 days
  • Either
  • 4 days in the week of August 14th to 18th may

  • 4 days in week of Nov.27th to Dec. 1st

    your experiences and your learning.

  • This all occurs in the Log Book (purple cover)
  • Vaccinations
  • Uniform

UNIFORM
  • Dress guidelines
  • Students should dress appropriately for the
    nature of their duties. Students may be excluded
    from the field placement if the Supervisor
    considers their attire to be inappropriate.
  • Occupational therapy student uniforms for Field
    practice
  •          Navy tailored pants
  •          White shirt plain style
  •          Navy cardigan, windcheater or OT rugby
    top through the OT Student Association.
  •          Suitable fully enclosed shoes
  •          Identification badge in plastic
    holder or badge on order through OT Student
    Association. Students should be identified as
    such and should not allow a situation to arise
    whereby they may appear to be qualified
    practitioners
  •  
  • While undertaking placements in mental health
    agencies, domiciliary care services and certain
    other agencies, students are able to wear
    ordinary street clothing, deemed neat casual (not
    jeans or tracksuits). The student should
    negotiate with the Supervisor at the placement
    site regarding appropriate dress.
  • If there is a need for an exception to be made in
    style or other deviation, the student should
    negotiate with the Course Coordinator and the
    respective agency Supervisor
