- To map and develop progression routes
- To develop interventions to allow
underrepresented groups to progress into Health
and Care - Provide opportunities to develop existing
workforce - Priority areas- Radiography, Biomedical Science,
Allied Health Professionals
3The higher skills challenge
- By 2020 40 of jobs will require graduate skills
(currently 30) - An additional 3.5 million graduates or equivalent
needed by 2020 - This is equivalent to a participation rate of 65
for 18-30 year olds. - Uk 24TH out of 29 developed countries for post-16
staying on rates in school.

premature deaths) - Obesity loses ( largely through days of sickness
relating to obesity) a further 3.5bn per annum - The loss from mental illness is even greater and
is estimated across England to be 23.1bn per
annum
