was established in terms of the Municipal
Structures Act (117 of 1998) and proclaimed in
the Provincial Gazette, Notice no 184, on 28
September 2000. the following local
municipalities, established under the same
notice, fall within the district municipal area -

must take place in the areas that has high
economic potential - In terms of our IDP focus is on provision of
basic services human development, that is we
should put more emphasis on education, skills
training - We must also invest on provision of basic
services rather than building mega cities where
buying power does not exist

- TMDM is one of the district which is faced with
the challenge of bucket eradication - All local municipalities in the district are
still using buckets or pitlatrines - Water meter installation to implement free basic
water - Increase the water capacity e.g. build dams,
installation of water pipeline - Maintenance of Roads Stormwater channel
