Sample Use Case 1 15 minutes
  • An architect needing to conduct Methodology for
    Business Transformation (MBT) Analysis to
    discover opportunities for improvement and
    recommendations for the blueprint would use their
    enterprise-view reports to easily navigate in a
    web browser to see what outcome, function,
    service, technology, data, etc. is used by what
    system, investment, across the enterprise via
    what organizations, blueprints, etc.
  • Choose a FEA Line-of-Business
  • Discover Systems using Functions in the Line of
    Business
  • Discover Entity impacted by those functions
  • Capture in Powerpoint a draft high-level
    information value chain of those functions

Sample Use Case 2 10 minutes
  • A capital planner wanting to update of the
    Business Case EA Section could print out that
    investment panel which is setup like just like
    the Exhibist 300 EA section, in their language.
  • Select an Investment Panel
  • Suggested Investment where System has an Existing
    300
  • NOTE Start at INVENTORY-REASON panel ( has Ex.
    300)
  • Open in Word and note the EA sections
  • Open the Nightly Investment Portfolio report
    Invesment to RM (DEAR Input to the 300) which
    contains that investment
  • Capture updates in Word
  • NOTE Future, this will be automatic view in
    Panel reports

Sample Use Case 3 10 minutes
  • Security is looking to save time on
    creating/maintaining the Asset Valuation Guide
    (AVG). An AVG Appendix Panel was created to pull
    down in word and attach to their document along
    with a Data Quality Status Panel with status on
    the accuracy and completeness of the information.
  • Security has requested updates to their current
    Asset Valuation Guide for a system
  • Open the SYSTEM_ Panel for a system
  • Open the AVG Appendix View
  • Open in word
  • Review where sections are not populated and set
    plane to collect more data
  • NOTE Actual process for this still in works

Sample Use Case 4 20 minutes
  • Procurement teams are looking for enterprise
    license agreement opportunities and can use the
    TRM panels in DEAR that show which technologies
    under what standards are being used by how many
    systems and organizations.
  • Procurement is looking to consolidate
    specifications within a single standard to the
    preferred technology(ies)
  • Select a TECHNOLOGY-SERVICE-STANDARD
  • Note the Preferred products Open in Word or
    excel
  • Open the DEAR Nightly Report TRM to system or
    open each TECHNOLOGY-SERVICE-SPECIFICATION panel
  • If nightly, open in excel and filter only for
    that STANDARD
  • Create Pivot Table of specifications to systems
    showing counts

  • Directors needing to report inventories to their
    OCIO or Federal Agencies such as FISMA, OMB,
    Trust, etc. via many different views including by
    organization, business-focus-area/blueprint,
    inventory reason, status, and more views as they
    are requested.
  • Director requests Portfolio view of inventory for
    your organization
  • Specifically, systems that are operational (not
    in design)
  • Open the Current System Inventory
  • Open in excel
  • Filter on where Operational Status is
    Operational
  • Select data, copy to new workbook, and save file

  • Business Owner needs to understand and model how
    the line of sight is captured. Tracking
    Performance objectives to what functions are
    being performed to what information is impacted.
  • From Use Case 1, discover which PRM Outcomes are
    supported using Panel Reports captured notes in
    Powerpoint
  • Capture MAPPABLE key entities impacted by
    line-of-business and create conceptual data model
    in Powerpoint of KEY entities only
  • Make slide showing
  • Outcomes to (top)
  • Value Chain to (middle)
  • Key Entities (bottom)
