A simple and efficient line detection algorithm
applied to Virgo data

the Virgo collaboration

• A tool for the detection of spectral lines in
  signals with broadband and coloured bkg noise
• Does not require a-priori knowledge of bkg noise
  nor lines characteristics
• Fast response low CPU cost make it well
  suited also for on-line use (line monitoring)

Works on the signal spectrogram S( f ) with a few
minute time base, and it approximates the matched
filtering statistics
