Project Description

• We wish to track the motion of an object sliding
  over a surface using analysis of the sound waves
  it emits in the surface.
• Two microphones placed on or embedded into the
  surface to collect the sound waves
• Each microphone plugged into each of two sound
  channels on a stereo sound card
• Analysis of sound vibrations collected on each
  channel to determine position and track motion
• Outcome Powerful low cost wireless-type
  human-computer interaction device

The Device Requirements

• The project will require the following
• Two crystal receiver microphones (incl. wiring)
• A microphone splitter jack
• A stereo-input enabled sound card
• A computer fitted with the sound card mentioned

Conclusion

• Project is very interesting
• Create or initiate creation of a powerful
  wireless-type mouse pad device which is
  obtainable at low cost
• Intelligence of the device in the software not
  the hardware
