What is Green Tea?
  • Species Name Camelia Sinensis
  • True Tea plant where Black, Green, Oolong, and
    White Tea come from.

  • Coronary artery disease, etc

Antioxidants
  • Molecule capable of slowing or preventing the
    oxidation of other molecules.
  • Transfers electrons from a substance to an
    oxidizing agent.
  • Produce free radicals, which start chain
    reactions that damage cells.
  • Antioxidants terminate these chain reactions by
    removing free radical, and inhibit other
    oxidation reactions by being oxidized themselves.

Antioxidants are often reducing agents such as
thiols or polyphenols.

    tea.
  • Polyphenols found more in green tea than other

  • Polyphenols are free radical scavengers which
    eliminate hydroxyl radicals, superoxide anion
    radicals, DPPH radicals, and other radicals.

  • Helps kill the cancer cells by cutting off the
    communication signals they need to survive.

Conclusion
There is no concrete evidence that EGCG will
either prevent or cure cancer. However, there are
more studies encouraging the use of green tea as
a preventative of cardiovascular disease and
cancer than studies that would not recommend it.
