All Early Head Start Head Start Programs Provide

• social competence in children of low-income
  families by allowing children the opportunity to
  reach their full potential.

Skip the Bread, Give me the Meat

• RPS Early Head Start Program has 60 families and
  more than half of the program families are
  teenage parents.
• We are housed within 2 high schools John Marshall
  and Adult Career Development Center.

Our Curriculum

• High scope active learning (tender care)
• Hands on material/natural resources
• During parent workshops and parents committee
  meetings, (make and take)

Life Goes on!

• RPS Early Head Start program started, March 2004
• Since then 27 parents have graduate
• 12 have enrolled in college

Life goes on

• 4 are in nursing school
• 3 have received their CNA
• 1 is in the culinary arts program
• 15 received their GED
• 1 father enlisted into the Military
• 1 works for the United States Postal services.
