obtaining your upper classifications!
3Lets look at the various competitions and
shooting activities available today.
41000 yard competition
I000 yard rifle competition is fired at 800,
900,1000 yards with an array of rifles. One form
of international competition is called Palma. It
is highly regulated with Various rules and the
equipment of choice is a bolt action custom rifle
with open Sights. The bullet is limited to the
.30 155gr hollow point boat tail. Another form
of 1000 match is shot with F Class rifles, or a
scoped specialty rifle. There are classes for
Service rifle such as the M-14, Springfield,
Enfield, and even AR-15 or M-16s although the
latter is hard pressed to achieve high scores.
The major factor in 1000 yard competition is the
wind. A fairly hefty crosswind of Only 20 miles
per hour can push your bullet 20 or 30 feet to
one side at the 1000 yard line.thats three or
four targets to the left or right of your target.
One has to acquire a real understanding of the
wind before he/or she can become a high scoring
individual, however there are many novices on the
course at any time giving it a great effort and
learning with every shot they take.

you have a very fun and fast paced gun game.
Most of the firearms used are the same as one
would carry as an everyday self-defense tool.

started and have lots of safe fun. You will
need a suitable major caliber pistol, a

protection, and the willingness to perform some
physical exercise. With increased awareness in
