Thrift Augmentation by Bank Linkage-Progress
  • For the year 2003-04,target for bank linkage was
    1746 NHGs against which 2002 NHGs were linked
    with Malappuram District Co-operative Bank.
  • Total credit to the tune of Rs 4,32,66,700.00 was
    distributed.For the year 2004-05 credit for Rs 6
    crores will be arranged.

Self Employment through Micro-enterprises
  • Ensuring Credit Availability
  • (a)For the year 2003-04, 155 micro enterprises
    have been formed under SCA scheme.1510 Families
    were benefited through this.
  • (b)Through bank linkage, 2536 NHGs were linked
    with both commercial and nationalised banks.Now
    at least 20 of NHGs are linked in every
    Panchayat.Rs. 10,32,07,950 will be extended as
    credit.

Solid waste disposal/multi-purpose job club
  • Four units for solid waste disposal have been
    started in Malappuram Municipality.Training for
    the unit members has also been arranged at
    Trivandrum
  • Possibilities of MPJCs are being explored at
    municipal and Panchayat levels.

  • ADS chair persons /C.Os/P.O s of municipalities
    were given training at Makkiyad, Wayanad (Dist)
    from 7th to 9th April.50 members participated in
    the training.
  • By the middle of this year,remaining members of
    other municipalities also will be given training

    Presidents and other members of LSGIs.

  • Restructuring of Perinthalmanna, Malappuram ,and
    Tirur urban CBOs is over.
  • Restructuring of Manjeri and Ponnani urban CBOs
    is yet to be completed due to internal problems.

  • Bank linkage extended to 2536 NHGs
  • Maximum SCA funds alloted to 320 individual micro
    enterprisesstands first in the state.
  • IITFMajor chunk of sale was from Malappuram
  • Long pending dues with Canara Bank and S.B.T
    cleared
  • Developed a permanent training centre for
    Kerashree at Karathodu.

  • DMT Malappuram is sub- staffed

  • Sky is the limit and DMT Malappuram will grab any
    opportunity passing by.
