Optical Illusion

• Trompe LOeil is another name for Optical
  Illusion which means fooling the eye
• The National Gallery of Art had an exhibit called
  Deceptions and Illusions Five Centuries of
  Trompe LOeil Painting at the end of last year
  which ended early March.

What causes optical Illusion?

• Depth perception and binocular disparity is
  developed in infants between the ages of 3 ½ to 6
  months.
• Optical Illusion takes place in the brain rather
  than in the eyes.

How do we know this?

• With the emerging technology and computers in the
  1960s Psychologist attached electrodes to
  infants heads,
• which were attached to computers.
• Those computers measured the electrical impulses
  that are used by the brain when it is active.
