Our Plan

• Divide herd into 6 groups of 150
• We will use a co-synch program

Re-Synch

• Cows will be given GnRH 21 days after being bred,
  and preg checked 28 days after breeding. If not
  pregnant, they will be given a shot of PGF2a, and
  bred two days later

Why Co-synch?

• Pre-synch is too many injections and too much
  time in between injections
• Ov-synch involves an extra handling of the animal

Synchronizing

• Groups I, II, and III will be done on weeks one
  and two.
• Groups IV, V, and VI will be done on weeks three
  and four.
• Begin pregnancy checking groups I, II, and III on
  week five.
• Begin pregnancy checking groups IV, V, and VI on
  week seven.

When to begin

• As it is November now, it is best to begin this
  protocol as soon as possible. Cows that become
  pregnant will calve in the beginning of August,
  and should be at peak lactation for the fall
  milking.
• Cows that need to be re-bred will also be hitting
  peak lactation around the fall.
