  • The Christian and Body Ministry

2
In The Last Lesson
  • God has declared us not guilty of our sins and
Christs merit covers us. But we still need to
learn more about how to live as God wants us to.
  • God wants us to regularly use all of the ways he
has given us to hear the Gospel so that he can
build up our faith and bless us.

Romans 124-8 Just as each of us has one body
with many members, and these members do not all
have the same function, 5 so in Christ we who are
many form one body, and each member belongs to
all the others. 6 We have different gifts,
according to the grace given us. If a mans gift
is prophesying, let him use it in proportion to
his faith. 7 If it is serving, let him serve if
it is teaching, let him teach 8 if it is
encouraging, let him encourage if it is
contributing to the needs of others, let him give
generously if it is leadership, let him govern
diligently if it is showing mercy, let him do it
cheerfully.

manifestation of the Spirit is given for the

Matthew 1815-18 If your brother sins against
you, go and show him his fault, just between the
two of you. If he listens to you, you have won
your brother over. 16 But if he will not listen,
take one or two others along, so that every
matter may be established by the testimony of two
or three witnesses. 17 If he refuses to listen
to them, tell it to the church and if he refuses
to listen even to the church, treat him as you
would a pagan or a tax collector. 18 I tell you
the truth, whatever you bind on earth will be
bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth
will be loosed in heaven.

Ephesians 411-16 It was he who gave some to be
apostles, some to be prophets, some to be
evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers,
12 to prepare Gods people for works of service,
so that the body of Christ may be built up 13
until we all reach unity in the faith and in the
knowledge of the Son of God and become mature,
attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of
Christ. 14 Then we will no longer be infants,
tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown
here and there by every wind of teaching and by
the cunning and craftiness of men in their
deceitful scheming. 15 Instead, speaking the
truth in love, we will in all things grow up into
him who is the Head, that is, Christ. 16 From
him the whole body, joined and held together by
every supporting ligament, grows and builds
itself up in love, as each part does its work.

How we can serve
  • Notes
  • 1) Every Christian has at least one spiritual
gift to be used for the ministry of the Body.
Each member is important and needed for a
complete ministry to be carried out.
  • 2)For positions of oversight and leadership among
the saints, the Bible gives certain
qualifications and directives that should be
    studied. See for example,1 Timothy 31-13 1
    Timothy 211-15, 1 Corinthians 1434-36.
