  sunup to sundown, sang rhythmic call and response
  to ease their brutal labor and to communicate
  without the masters knowledge.

• The blues started in the North Mississippi Delta
  following the Civil War
  
• The themes were injustice,longing for a better
  life,lost loves,jobs and money
  
• The blues got its name from the way blues singers
  and instrumentalist bend notes, not because the
  music is sad.

• W.C Handy discovered the blues when he awoke to a
  man next to him singing about going where the
  southern cross the dog.
  
• He liked the style of the music and brought it to
  popular culture.
  
• The pattern for the Blues is one line repeats
  twice, then goes to a different line
  
• The second line is called a unison line,where it
  repeats its self.
