School Workforce Census update

• Ministers have approved revised arrangements for
  School Workforce pilots
• Pilot timetable now runs through 2008/ 2009, live
  from January 2010
• Same basic requirements, some minor changes
• Teachers with occasional service (lt one month) no
  longer in scope
• rationalisation of Roles, Posts and Contract /
  Service types (e.g. to incorporate Excellent
  Teachers)

• Revised specification published for software
  suppliers and data providers w/c 12 June
  (available from TNet)
• DfES will re-establish LA pilot working group
• Workshop for pilot LAs on 13 July, London
• Further plans for 2006/07 (guidance, training,
  preparation, testing, DISC) to be discussed with
  pilot LAs in July and published on TNet in due
  course
