UE mobility requirement

• TS 22.011 v8.8.0 Chap 8.2.2 Idle mode operation
• When a UE in idle mode detects the presence of a
  permissible CSG cell (a CSG cell whose CSG
  identity is in the UEs white list), the UE shall
  select the CSG cell.

1. Entering CSG id2, but not selecting it, because
   not permissible
2. Entering CSG id1, and selecting it, even if still
   under Macro cell coverage
3. Report CSG id1 to PLMN, and camp on CSG id1 (if
   not rejected by NW)

UE requirement for manual CSG selection

• TS 22.011 v8.8.0 Chap 8.2.4 Manual CSG Identity
  selection
• The user shall be able to request the UE to
  perform a scan for available CSG Identities
  within the registered PLMN. When such request is
  received the UE shall perform a scan of available
  CSG cells, their CSG identities and their HNB
  Names.
• In the UE display, the available CSG identities
  shall be represented by their associated HNB
  Names. If the HNB Name is not available, the CSG
  identity shall be displayed instead. An
  indication shall be given to the user as to which
  of the available CSG identities is contained in
  the CSG white list
• CSG type
• can be displayed when UE camping on a CSG cell

  information on billing type

Discovery of surrounding CSG cells

• Extension to PROVIDE LOCAL INFORMATION, support
  indicated in Terminal Profile
• Terminal response contains
• List of CSG ids
• List of H(e)NB names
• the idea is to get a the same list as the one
  displayed during manual CSG selection. The
  feature does not trig a network scan.

limitations

• In the Terminal Response of discovery of
  surrounding CSG cell,
• camping CSG cell will be part of the list, for
  sure
• Will all permissible CSG cells (CSG id2, CSG id3)
  part of the list? likely
• Will the first CSG id1 part of the list? Maybe,
  if ME keeps entering CSG id in cache memory
• Will CSG id4 part of the list? Likely not

-gt this is dependant on handset implementation
and network topology
It is recommended to run a REFRESH steering of
roaming command beforehand, to force handset to
run a network selection process, and update ME
cache memory
