reduced cost - Improved interdepartmental communication on IT
issues via the IT Managers and Users group

/ Electronic Data Warehouse) - Replace remaining network equipment that needs to
be consistent with the newly-installed backbone

- Provide integrated access point for access to
multiple information systems - Provide for single sign-on point for multiple
information systems - Provide consistent information to targeted

- Currently evaluating two alternative systems
- Luminis is used by several other TAMUS
institutions - myCampus (CampusEAI/Oracle) provides partial
funding through a grant program used by UT-PA
and many other institutions around the country

09 Programmatic Budget Review - Funding was received for the project across two
fiscal years (part HEF and part Computer Use Fee) - Goals
- Upgrade campus network backbone from 100 Mbps to
10 Gbps to allow for future demand (involves
replacement of all distributed network switches
and other network appliances) - Provide for campus-wide wireless access
