Objectives

• The objective was to determine if a books price
  varies with the authors gender.
• The objective was met by using descriptive
  statistics.
• A two-sample t-test comparing two means was used
  to draw inferences.

Data Collection

• Data was collected at a large bookstore (Barnes
  Noble) and 30 hardcover books that have a male
  author and 30 hardcover books that have a female
  author were randomly sampled.
• Each group member was responsible for sampling 15
  books of there own gender.
• The gender of the author and the price of the
  book were recorded.
• All books chosen had at least 200 pages.
