In March 2006Alfalit International Liberia
became our 25th program.

• Liberia, founded in 1847 by freed slaves, is the
  oldest independent black nation in Africa and
  second oldest in the world, after Haiti.

• The country and its people have suffered through
  14 years of political unrest.

Liberia is in the bottom 25 of the worlds
poorest countries.

80 of children, youth and adults in Liberia are
illiterate

Soon there will be 20,000,000 orphaned children
in Africa due to Aids, Malaria, Tuberculosis,
Wars and Famine USAID

But through Alfalit there is hope
