• A is for Anne Frank . . .
• Anne Frank was one of the many, 6 000 000 people
  (mostly Jewish), to be exact, who were killed by
  the Germans during World War II.
• Anne Frank was born on June 12, 1939. Anne was
  the second daughter of Otto and Edith Frank. Both
  Edith and Otto were from respected German-Jewish
  families.
• As a German-Jewish teenager, she was forced to go
  into hiding during the Holocaust. Her and her
  family, along with 4 others, spent 25 months
  during World War II in a few rooms that were
  above her father's office in Amsterdam, the
  Netherlands.
• While she was in hiding, Anne Frank kept a diary
  which has become a major piece of history
  portraying how it was to be a teenager in hiding
  during the war.
• After being betrayed to the Nazis, Anne and her
  family, and the others who were living with them
  were arrested and deported to Nazi concentration
  camps.
• Nine months after she was arrested, Anne Frank
  died of typhus in March of 1945 at Bergen-Belsen.
  She was fifteen years old.
