Sponsorship and Submissions
  • AMLE is sponsored by the Academy of
    Managementthe largest association of business
professors in the world--complimenting its other
three journals, Academy of Management Executive,
Academy of Management Journal and Academy of
Management Review. AMLE has approximately 16,000
subscriptions. All submitted papers go through a
rigorous peer-review process where the editor or
one of the associate editors serves as decision
editor, and at least two reviews are solicited,
one from the Editorial Board (for more detail see
    http//aom.pace.edu/amle/).

4
Acceptance Rates
  • AMLE processes approximately 170 submissions per
year. The average acceptance rate is 8 for
papers submitted to the Research Reviews
section, and 31 for papers submitted to the
    Essays, Dialogues Interviews section (the
latter rate is higher because EDI submissions are
vetted by the editor in advance).

Publishing Tips
  • Do not put Pen to Paper lest you Possess a
Proclivity to Publish Every paper, including
for courses, should be intentionally written to
submit to a conference, journal, or use as a
    chapter of your dissertation.
  • Solicit Pre-Submission Reviews Ask colleagues
and authorities in the topical area to provide
comments and opinions. This is also a
    networking devise.

8
Publishing Tips
  • Writing Style Matters Crisply and elegantly
written papers have a better chance of
acceptance. As a general rule, reduce your first
draft by 25. Writing is hard work give it its
    due!
  • Assiduously Edit Most papers chances of
    publication are severely compromised by
    unprofessional presentation, poor grammar and
spelling, and not adhering to style and
submission guidelines. Dont let this happen to
    you!

9
Publishing Tips
  • Write for the Journal Study back issues of the
journal you are submitting to for theoretical and
    methodological commitments. Cite relevant papers
    from that journal.
  • Respond to Reviewers With revise resubmits,
carefully and respectfully respond to reviewer
comments in a separate letter. Reviewers have
    egos too!
  • Editors are your Friend The interests of
editors and authors are perfectly aligned.
