• Athena is Odysseus guide throughout his long
  journey through the sea.
• Athena is represented by an owl in most Greek
  sculptures.

The Myth

• Once upon a time, a warrior named Maximus,
  decided to go on a journey. He wanted to find
  the major arena where all the gladiators fought.
  Athena appeared to him and said,

The Calling

• Maximus, look at yourself in this mirror. What
  do you see?
• He exclaimed, I see myself at the arena being
  cheered by millions of Greeks!
• Athena said, What else do you see?

The Decision

• Maximus suddenly grew quiet.
• He looked into Athenas mirror and saw himself
  getting killed by the next great gladiator.
• He made a decision.
• Since, Athena is the goddess of war and
  knowledge, she showed Maximus what he should do.

Maximusthe scholar?

• He decided that being a gladiator would not be
  the best idea for him.
• So, Maximus decided to study and read philosophy
  with Plato.
• Maximus became the next great Emperor.
