- There are a few things to remember while going
through this tutorial. These simple clues will
help you go through the lesson with no trouble at
all.

- Red buttons with pointers.
- They will help you move to the next slide if they
point right like this - Or go back if they point left like this
- They are usually in the lower right corner.
- Not every slide has these buttons.

- Bold red arrows like this
- These point to important parts of the screen.
- Many slides in this presentation are screenshots,
or pictures taken from the computer screen.
These arrows are not part of the original picture.

6Lets start the tutorial
- To check out books, you need to have the Athena
program open and active. How can you tell if it
is? What does the screen look like? Click on
one of the pictures.

12- Now that we have Athena open in front of us, we
are ready to check out our books.

13If Athena is not on the screen. . .
Look for it at the bottom of the screen.

The exact words dont matter, just the purple
Athena icon and the name.

15If you have this, click it to go to Athena
If not, youll need to open up the program

16To open the program,
Double-click on the icon that looks like this
Athena is a BIG program it will take several
minutes to open.

17First, type your last name in the narrow white
box (you cant actually type in this tutorial)

18As you type, Athena will highlight your name, and
the green light will go on. Click Select.

19Your name would be there
From this screen, you can scan your books.

20As you scan each book, its title and
barcode number will appear on the screen.

21The next book you scan will appear at the top of
the list like this.

22Keep on scanning like this until. . .

need. Then click Check Out or Done (either
button will work)
