• Marions car reversed into a tree
• Alice contacted Marion when she heard her story

Whats the Deal?

• The 1982-1985 Audi vehicles were poorly produced.
• When the car was being shifted from park to
  either drive or reverse the car would suddenly
  bolt out of control as if it were possessed.

Audis excuse

• Audi reports say that the reason for these
  accidents were due to inexperienced drivers who
  were under five feet five inches tall the
  implication being that the accident happened
  mostly to women drivers.

Attempt to preserve the name

• Due to all the bad publicity that the Audi
  Victims Network were conducting, the
  manufactures decided to make some adjustments by
  quietly buying back the cars and fixing the
  floorboards and mats.
• The second time they tried making modifications
  they decided to replace the accelerator and break
  pedal.
• The third modification they put a mechanism on
  the shifter which required you to push the brake
  in before shifting into gear.

Other Accidents

• There have been many other accidents across the
  globe.
• By the summer of 1986 there had been over 500
  reports of Audis acceleration accidents.
• There were at least 4 deaths reported.
• In Canton, Ohio, Kristi Bradowsky was driving
  into the garage and waiting for her 6 year old
  son to open the door when she shifted the car to
  drive when it went out of control and fatally
  crashing into her son.

Problem Solved?

• Yes, it will ensure the safety of all different
  types of drivers from now on.
• Alice and Marion did not give up and now the
  NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety
  Administration) strongly enforces all safety laws
  for our protection.
• Audi is still in business and now, MUCH safer
  than ever before.
