Budva
Budva is one of the oldest settlements on the
Adriatic coast, made for living and enjoyment. It
is thought to be 2,500 years old and its
beginning is connected with Cadmo, son of a
Phoenician king, later Illyrian king which

Kotor
In a most secluded part of Kotor Bay, the old
Mediterranean town of Kotor lies, surrounded by
an impressive city wall, very well preserved and
protected. The Old City of Kotor was built
between the 12th and 14th century. The old town

Perast
The little town of Perast is situated at the foot
of St. Elijah Hill (873 m), opposite the narrow
Verige strait, where the innermost bays of Risan
and Kotor converge. This easternmost shore was
the earliest inhabited area in the
Boka.  Preceded by two jewel-like islands, Perast
is focused on the sea. Despite its size, a
sophisticated urban structure has arisen,
demonstrated by the proportion, scale, massing
and rhythm of the great number of public
buildings, especially along the waterfront.

Our Lady of the Rock
The Island Gospa od Skrpjela is one of two
gorgeous islands in the bay of Boka Kotorska,
which are situated in the sea across Perast in
the Kotor municipality. According to a legend,
fisherman from Perast, after a shipwreck near the
island, have found a icon of the Holy Mother of
God with the Christ on a sea rock, so as the
customs say they vowed to build a church on the
island. They have built the church in 1630. As
the island had to be maintained, the seaman
continued to bring the stones, so that tradition
is alive even today. The custom from the old
times was recently renewed. Today it is called
Fasinada from Perast and it is held at the end of
the day on the 22nd of July.

Cetinje
In the old capital Cetinje, today almost deserted
heart of Montenegro, city that fell asleep after
II World War, lies numerous possibilities for
history loving visitors - among well preserved
Palace of King Nikola, old embassies of all
countries, monasteries and churches where two of
the most famous Christian relics are kept - the
right hand of St. John the Baptist, a piece of
the True Cross, the chest of St. Petar Cetinjski
and a rich collection of icons, rich paintings
and ethnographic collection, war trophies... In
Government house, also a beautiful picture
gallery, in the blue chapel, the icon of Our
Lady of Filermo which according to legend was
painted by St. Luke. King Nikolas Court, now
housing the National Museum, houses a range of
rich collection of paintings, ethnographic
artefacts, military trophies, coins and stamps.

Njegusi
Njegusi is a small village surrounded by
mountains of the National Park Lovcen. This is
the birth place of Petar II Petrovic Njegos,
great ruler, philospher and poet of Montenegro as
well as the birth place of the the dynasty
Petrovic. In this mountain village, at the 900
meter above sea level, you can taste some
specialties of the region. The village is famous
for the production of the famous cheese from
Njegusi, smoked ham and dried goat cheese, honey
and mead.

Our Lady of the Rock Our lady of the Rocks is a
picturesque islet off the shore of Perast with a
church. It is made by deliberate accumulation of
stone pieces and of old sunken ships loaded with
stones all that around an existing rock.
Museums of Perast and Kotor Former rich seamen
palaces in Old Town Kotor and baroque town of

National Parks
Skadar Lake Picturesque and unique Skadar Lake is
situated in Zeta-Skadar valley linked with the
Adriatic Sea through the River Bojana. With its
surface ranging from 370 to 530 km² depending on
water level fluctuations, represents the largest
Lake on Balkan Peninsula. The 2/3 of the Lake
belongs to Montenegro, whereas 1/3 of the Lake
belongs to the Republic of Albania. Activities
birdwatching, fishing, hiking, biking, horse
riding, rowing, sailing, windsurfing, speleology.
Lovcen Lovcen National Park encompasses the
central and the highest part of Lovcen Mt massif
and covers an area of 6,220 ha. It was proclaimed
a national park in 1952. The particular
architectural relic, worth of mentioning, is
represented by the famous Lovcens serpentines.
The old road toward Kotor winds uphill to
Njegusi, a picturesque mountain village, where
were both the born house of Petar II Petrovic
Njegos, an important Montenegrin ruler and poet,
and the last ruler of Montenegro the King Nikola

National Parks
Biogradska gora Biogradska gora National Park was
established in 1952. Situated in the northeastern
part of Montenegro, between the Tara and Lim
rivers in the central part of the Bjelasica
mountain massif, it occupies an area of 5,650
hectares.     Encircled by mountain peaks,
crossed by streams and valleys, decorated with
beautiful lakes, adorned with a century-old trees
and tame meadows, this park represents the
magnificent natural value. Activities photo

Durmitor The Durmitor region, by its intact
beauty   a rare and authentic work of nature,

upper part of the canyon valley of the river
Komarnica, thus covering an area of 39,000

National Park Durmitor to inscribe in the List of
the Worlds cultural and natural heritage while
the river Tara and its canyon valley were, under
UNESCOs Man and Biosphere programme, enrolled
in the Worlds ecological biosphere reserves in
