What you need

• Ball of clay
• Rolling pin
• Hessian
• Square template
• Knife
• Mark making tools

What to do

• Roll the clay out on the hessian mat about 1cm
  thick.

• 2. Use the square template to cut around. Remove
  the excess clay.
• (You could use this again to make something
  else.)

Then

• 3. Pattern the tile with anything that makes an
  interesting mark on the clay.
• Leave it to dry for a week.

• 4. Fire the tile in a kiln.

Finally

• 5. Glaze your tile. Glaze is special paint for
  clay.

• 6. Fire the tile once more in the kiln.
• Your tile is complete!
