  • DISCUSS AND EXCHANGE INFORMATION ON
    BOUNDARY-LAYER STABILITY AND TRANSITION RESEARCH.
  • DEVELOP NEW AREAS OF RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT.
  • ASSESS THE COORDINATION AND FOCUS OF SPONSORED
    RESEARCH EFFORTS.
  • PLAN AND IMPLEMENT COOPERATIVE ACTIVITIES TO
    RESOLVE ANOMALIES IN DATA AND BETWEEN DIFFERENT
    COMPUTATIONS.

ORGANIZATION
  • INITIALLY, THE SCOPE WILL BE LIMITED TO
    SUPERSONIC AND HYPERSONIC FLOWS SINCE THESE ARE
    THE PRIMARY PROGRAMS THAT ARE FUNDED IN THE U.S.
  • MEET TWICE A YEAR JANUARY (AIAA, RENO) AND JUNE
    (AIAA FLUID DYNAMICS CONFERENCE).

ORGANIZATION CONTINUED
  • 11 MEMBERS WILL SERVE TERMS OF 3 YEARS WITH
    OTHERS ROTATING IN ON A REGULAR BASIS. THIS GROUP
    WILL SCHEDULE AGENDA ITEMS, SOLICIT INPUT FROM
    THE TRANSITION COMMUNITY, WRITE POSITION PAPERS,
    AND IN GENERAL, CARRY OUT THE MISSION STATEMENT.
  • THERE ALWAYS WILL BE A SESSION OPEN TO ALL
    INTERESTED PEOPLE TO DISCUSS PROBLEMS OF
    TRANSITION AND TO GIVE BRIEF REPORTS ON CURRENT
    WORK.
