Regional Chamber of Economy Subotica is located
on the north of Vojvodina and its territory
encompasses six municipalities. Subotica

The region borders with the Republic of Hungary
on the north, effectively constituting a gateway
from European Union to South-Eastern Balkans.
Corridor 10 crosses through the territory of all
three municipalities and connects them with
Central and South-Eastern Europe.

History
The Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Handcrafts
was established on March 26th, 1850 with seat in
Timisoara, on the territory of the current
Regional Chamber of Economy Subotica. Following
members were elected to the management of the
Timisoara Chamber, from Subotica - Three
representatives from industry - Five
representatives from trade. Organized chamber
activities exist since that time in this region.
The modern Regional Chamber of commerce and
industry in Subotica began to function on 7th
August 1975.

Main Activities in the Region
The region is predominantly agricultural, with
developed food production which several times
exceeds the needs of the region The agricultural
activity is performed on the surface of 168.000
ha of cultivated land Subotica - Horgo sandy
terrain is suitable for fruit growing and
viniculture . The economy of the Region is
characterized by electric and metal complex and
food industry, together with the development of
crafts and services. This is obvious from the
fact that 30 of companies and 50 of employees
are working in these three branches .
