Esperanza has had her dad die, house burn down,
and her grandma leave.

• 1. The story we just finished was called
  Esperanza Rising and it was written by Pam Munoz
  Ryan.
• 2. The main characters name is Esperanza (Anza
  for short) and she ends up having a really hard
  time when she has to move to America
• 3. She has two really mean uncles named tio Luis
  and tio Marko, on top of that her dads dead.
• 4.her abualita has to go away until they get a
  lot of money to get her to America.
• 5. Her mother gets sick and becomes to close to
  death for comfort but she pulls through.
• 6.and Anza goes from being a spoiled brat to a
  fine young lady.

Mexico-1924
The Mexican revolution has just ended and Mexico
never looked better except for the bandits
running around in the dessert and looking for
someone to pillage. And thats when it happened
Anzas dad is found dead by her servants Alfonso
and Miguel. They think that bandits did this to
him.

Character profile Miguel, Anza, papa.

• 1.miguel is a mixture pf brave and nice, one
  thing that happened to him in the story was that
  he went back into the house while it was burning
  to get Abualita out of the house. Another thing
  that happened was that he left out of the blue.
• 2.anza is a little bit of something just went up
  her butt and stayed there and nice, she lost her
  father to death and she lost the only house she
  owned.
• 3.papa was a great man he was brave and nice, he
  taught Anza to rule his land and he is dead.

Tio, nieta, machaca

• 1. Machaca is a dish made out of eggs, beef,
  onions, and peppers. The sentence it was in is,
  there were tortillas on a plate and Hortensia was
  stirring a pan of machaca. I thought that
  machaca was a type of cow or something was I
  wrong or what.
• 2. Tio means uncle and the sentence it comes from
  is, but it was only Tio Luis and Tio Marco,
  Papas older stepbrothers. I actually thought
  that tio meant uncle.
• 3. Nieta means grandchild and the sentence it is
  in is, Come mi nieta, my granddaughter, said
  Abuelita, holding up yarn and crochet hooks. I
  thought that nieta meant grandkid really I did I
  just had to make sure I was right.

Dust storms

• 1.Dust storms are thing of nature that are very
  dangerous and are usually found in arid and
  semi-arid places.
• 2.The most casual places to find a dust storm are
  Iran, Pakistan, India, and China.
• 3.The dust bowl was a series of dust storms and
  it wiped out a lot of houses and a lot of people
  died during it most people who survived it were
  horribly traumatized or saverly hurt.
