• Conjugation starts with an infinitive.
• An infinitive in English are the words
• To a verb. Such as to play, to help,
• to learn, to speak.
• Conjugation is the act of changing a
• verb from an infinitive to adding a
• subject to perform the action.
• I play
• He runs
• You study

• In German, just as in English, we have irregular
  verbs.
• SEIN is an irregular verb in that it does
• not follow a pattern, it has to be
• memorized in order to learn it.
• The following slide will show how
• SEIN is conjugated in German.
