    sports.

    strategies while participating in individual and
    dual sports.

    selected movement forms.

    to improve performance.

Day 1
  • History of the game
  • Rules and regulations
  • Do dribbling drills
  • right-hand, left-hand, cross-over,
    behind-the-back, between the legs.

Day 2
  • Review from the day before
  • Students will learn passing skills
  • chest pass, bounce pass, and over-head pass
  • 3 man weave drill

Day 3
  • Students will learn shooting technique
  • Start shooting lay-ups with right-hand and then
    with their left-hand
  • Work on jump shots inside 3pt line
  • Foul shots
  • 3 pt shots
  • Once skills are learned play game of Knock-out

Day 4
  • Students will learn defensive skills
  • Defensive slides up and down the gym as a drill
  • Brief review of skills learned
  • Play a game of 3-on-3 or 5-on-5 (class size will
    vary)

Day 5
  • Review on the skills learned
  • Incorporate skills learned and continue playing
    5-on-5 or 3-on-3
  • Students will play on separate courts with gym
    being supervised
  • Teams will be split into even skilled teams and
    play to score of 20

Day 6
  • Students will review
  • Students will play 5-on-5 most of the class
    period
  • Students will be given a study guide and NCAA
    tournament bracket
  • Students will evaluate each other on
    participation and mechanics

Require Learner Participation
  • Keep learners interested and on task by keeping
    them physically active
  • Change drills frequently so students do not get
    bored
  • Participation is required and points will be
    deducted if there is not
  • Participate with students if necessary

Evaluate and Revise
  • Students will be evaluated based on participation
    and attendance.
  • Students will lose points if they decide to skip
    class on not participate.
  • Students will not be graded on skill but
    sportsmanship, following rules, and teamwork.
  • Students will be given an assignment about the
    game of basketball and what they liked and
    disliked about the game.
