Her Life

• She was born to Lt. and Mrs. Emory J. Pike on
  February 22, 1902 at Fort Meyer, Virginia.
• She knew General Pershing , General Wainwright ,
  and President Taft.

Education

• Martha Agnes Pike gratuated High School early in
  September 1920 and attended Drake University. She
  completed college at Ohio University in 1924
• She taught school in Cleveland, Ohio and then in
  Clifton, Arizona until she married.
• She returned to teaching again at the beginning
  of World War II when there was a teacher
  shortage.
• After moving to Boulder City, Nevada, she taught
  at the high school for many years.

Achievements

• Martha P. King was recognized by her peers as
  the outstanding teacher for Clark County School
  District in 1967.
• She helped organize the Boulder City C. T.A. and
  received the C.C.C.T.A. Distinguished Service
  Award.
• She helped organize the Business Social Studies
  Council.
• In 1991 Martha P. King Elementary School was
  dedicated, and named after this important woman.

• Martha P. King Elementary School is about 17
  years old.
• The school has around 470 kids a year.
• It is located on 888 Adams Blvd.
• We love Martha P. King Elementary School and all
