What Do You Do During A Debate?

• Present a position on an issue/question
• Present your reasons for supporting that position
• Defend your position with evidence
• Counter, rebut the position evidence of your
  opponent
• Restate confirm your position

The PREP formula is very useful for debate

• The PREPing formula for Impromptu Speaking
• Point of View Initially provide your point of
  view or stand on the issue
• Reasons Provide chief reasons why you believe
  your point of view is correct
• Evidence/Examples Give specific evidence to
  support your point of view
• Point of View Reinforce your point of view by
  simply restating it
