• Solid Rocket Boosters (SRB) provide main initial
  thrust for lift-off.
• Detach at 45 km and parachute to the ground.
• External Tank (ET) provides fuel to Space
  Shuttle Main Engines (SSME) for continued ascent
  into Earth Orbit.
• Detach in LEO and burn up in Earth's Atmosphere
