Current Functions of SIRC
  • Provide information and clarification regarding
    Title I, School Improvement requirements
  • Conduct needs assessments through on-site visits
  • Assist school personnel in developing and
    implementing an effective Campus Improvement Plan
    (CIP)
  • Implement the Campus Administrator Mentor (CAM)
    Program and SIP Academy grant
  • Assist school administration in selecting a
    Technical Assistance Provider (TAP)
  • Serve as a resource for schools and for TAPs as
    schools implement their CIPs
  • Provide training for approved CAMs and TAPs
  • Oversee the approval and renewal process for
    Supplemental Education Services (SES) providers
  • Offer conferences that will accelerate the

  • Two in, two out
  • A campus that does not make AYP for the SAME
    indicator (reading, mathematics, or
    attendance/graduation rate) for TWO CONSECUTIVE
    YEARS is identified for school improvement.
  • A campus identified for school improvement must
    meet AYP for TWO CONSECUTIVE YEARS in the SAME

the class of 2006. An improvement of 0.4.
Therefore school DOES meet RI.
Since actual improvement (7) exceeds 10

at least 0.1 for Graduation measure for Eco Dis
students.

What happens if a SIP school meets AYP when the
next years results come out?
  • If a campus meets AYP in the same indicator that
    caused it to enter a stage of school improvement,
    the school moves into the second year of the same
    stage of improvement (Stage 1/Year 2, Stage
    3/Year 2, etc.) or they exit the program if
    theyve met AYP for the 2nd year in the same
    indicator.
  • A 2nd year campus will continue to implement the
    requirements of the current stage until the
    campus exits school improvement by meeting AYP
    for two consecutive years in the same indicator.

What happens if a SIP school does not meet AYP
when next years results come out?
  • If the campus does not meet AYP in the same
    indicator for a second time while in a stage of
    school improvement, the campus enters into the
    next stage of school improvement.

Technical Assistance Provider (TAP)
  • The primary purpose of a TAP is to act as an
    external, objective set of eyes that provides
    input and recommendations for campus improvement.
  • A Technical Assistance Provider (TAP) is a
    hands-on consultant who works with the campus

    through the improvement process.
