  • All teachers and paraprofessionals must be highly
    qualified.
  • Teachers must be highly qualified in the content
    area of instruction they are teaching.
  • Funds are used for professional development
    trainings.

School Choice Supplemental Services

  • School Choice
  • Any student enrolled at a school in improvement
    has the option to transfer to another public
    school in TUSD that has not been identified for
    school improvement.
  • TUSD-Title I will pay for the transportation
    costs to that school.

  • Supplemental Educational Services (SES)
  • Students in danger of failing and/or the students
    with the highest rate of low income have the
    opportunity to receive supplemental educational
    services, over and beyond the regular classroom
    instruction (tutoring, after school services,
    summer programs)
  • The list of providers are approved by the Arizona
    Department of Education.
  • TUSD-Title I will pay for the provider of the
    supplemental educational services.

  • All homeless students across the District are
    eligible to receive homeless services from Title
    I such as

  • School Supplies
  • Uniforms
  • Personal Care Items
  • Students are also permitted to remain in their
    schools of origin for the duration and until
    the end of the academic year in which they move
    into permanent housing.

  • Instructional Coaches are provided for all
    schools in TUSD, not just Title I schools.
  • Change from 2005-06
  • Title I schools paid for their instructional
    coaches from their Title I school allocation.
  • In 2006-07, instructional coaches will be paid
    from this 10 District Improvement allocation.
