MINI EXPERIMENT

• We are going to drop several sheets of paper of
  the same mass time their fall.
• The variable we will change is

SURFACE AREA OF THE PAPER

CONCLUSIONS

• Objects of the same mass fall at different
  speeds if their surface areas are different.
• The larger the surface area, the greater the
  drag (air resistance) and the slower an object
  falls.

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN WE FALL?

• GRAVITY (downwards) makes us accelerate (speed
  up).
• DRAG (upwards) starts to increase.
• Eventually, DRAG WEIGHT, so the resultant
  force is zero.
• If there is no force, speed cannot change we
  reach TERMINAL VELOCITY.
