A Gifted Young Teen And Middle-Child Tries To
Survive Among His Dysfunctional Family
7 Seasons On FOX 151 Scripts Available
An offbeat dramedy about a bizarrely
dysfunctional family, the center of which is
Malcolm, the middle child in-between his two
brothers who still live at home. Malcolm often
has a hard time coping with his family life, but
he has more troubles to contend with when he
starts receiving special treatment at school
after being diagnosed as an intellectually
advanced genius and enduring an eccentric,
although eerily normal life. The series was
different in many ways as Malcolm broke the
fourth wall and talked directly to the
viewer. Also, emulating the style of hour-long
dramas, the show was shot on film, using a single
camera and neither used a laugh track or live
studio audience.

An Ensemble Cast Of Crazy, But Enduring Characters
Malcolm The middle child and the family
protagonist is discovered to be a gifted
student who desires to lead a normal life
despite becoming a social outcast in school

manipulative and slightly crazy lady, is also
vulnerable and cares very much for her sons,
defending them from others
Hal Malcolm's father and former rebel and
troublemaker is more relaxed in his
parenting than Lois and can quickly lose
self-control and indulge in bad behavior when
shes away
Francis The oldest of the brothers and the
biggest troublemaker was set to a military
academy after he was caught in bed with his
girlfriend and crashed Loiss car

only when devising fiendish plans

seasons of the series is portrayed as being
