Title: POSC Caesar Association PCA
1POSC Caesar Association (PCA)
Not-for-profit, member organisation that promotes
the development of open standards for the
integration and interoperability of data,
software and e-engineering
- Integrated Information Platform
- Daily Production Reporting
- Daily Drilling Reporting
2POSC Caesar Association (PCA) - Status
- PCA is established at ISO to promote the
interests of the oil and gas industry. - PCA is collaborating with POSC
- PCA is beginning to collaboration with FIATECH
- Defining common goals (use ISO 15926)
- Defining specific activities and projects
(equipment data sheets) - PCA is interested in a stronger presence in the
USA - PCA establishing Special Interest Groups (SIGs)
to focus on specific oil and gas industry needs
and the implementation of ISO 15926. - PCA is interested in more testing of ISO 15926
via real implementations - PCA initiates and participates in projects an
example Integrated Information Platform (IIP)
project reference data is to be owned and managed
by PCA - 3.5 million
- Participants include Statoil, Norwegian Oil
Industry Association, Capgemeni, National Oilwell
Varco, Poseidon, OilCamp, FMC, NTNU, POSC, DNV,
Norwegian Research Council
3Integrated Information Platform (IIP)
- Daily Production Reporting terminology(1100
terms) - Will provides consistent operator and partner
production activity and volume reporting
- Subsea Equipment and Production terminology (1000
terms) - Engineering, procurement and maintenance
processes
- Standardized integrated information model
(RDL) - Geometry and topology
- Seismic
- Drilling and logging (WITSML)
- Reservoir
- Production
- Safety and automation system
- Subsea equipment
- Reliability and maintenance
- Daily Drilling Report
- Will provide consistent operator and partner
daily drilling reporting - Subset of drilling and logging terms, originally
from WITSML (2700 terms)
- Condition based monitoring (CBM)
- Support integrated view of information from
several sources of CBM data
4Daily Production Reporting - Objectives
- Define all production and activities terms that
are reported today for the NCS into one
production report - Daily production reporting (volumes, masses,
temps, etc) - Daily activity reporting (marine ops, alarms,
well testing, etc.) - HSE information not included in scope
- Implement solution in a software tool for use by
operators, their partners and the Norwegian
authorities - Benefits
- Daily production data will be standardized across
production licenses and more easily available for
partners for internal manipulation and
calculations. - Use of standardized reference data (bsw, net
oil, etc.). Provide a common understanding and
meaning that will ease integration by providing a
defined unambiguous terminology of a domain
library - A manual process has been automated. Better
accuracy and data quality.
5Daily Production Reporting - Status
- Status
- Completed 800-900 terms and definitions
- Included terms and definitions in ISO 15926
- Software implementation, piloting and testing for
two fields (Valhall / BP and Åsgard / Statoil) - Participants
- BP, ChevronTexaco, ConocoPhillips, ENI,
ExxonMobil, Hydro, NPD, Petoro, Shell, Statoil,
Total - Integrated Information Platform (IIP) Project,
with DNV as IIP project manager and POSC as
developer of XML data exchange formats - TietoEnator, with License Web and Energy
Component software

7Daily Drilling Report - Scope
- Participants
- Authorities, associations NPD, OLF, Norwegian
Petroleum Safety Authority - BP, ConocoPhillips, Eni, ExxonMobil, Hydro,
Statoil, Shell, Total - CapGemini, Sense Intellifield, National Oilwell
Varco - Projects Aksio and Integrated Information
Platform Project - Scope - Define all drilling terms that are
required to be reported today for the NCS in one
drilling report - Standardize drilling data concepts
- Provide solution for import and export of
reported data to and from License Web - Piloting and evaluation of solution
- Benefits
- Operators are primarily interested in simplifying
effort to comply with reporting demands from
Authorities - Norwegian Authorities are currently reworking the
list of data elements for Daily Drilling
Reporting. - Enhanced consistency and interoperability between
existing drilling applications and databases
8Daily Drilling Reporting
9Summary
- PCA developing reference data for ISO 15926
- Allows for information integration across
engineering disciplines - Daily Production Report and the Daily Drilling
Report - Allows for information consolidation without
cross referencing and manual input
