  • An enhancement of our existing curriculum, not
    a bolt on extra.
  • Teaching students about the wider world.
  • Providing real information for research.
  • Providing real situations to practise skills.
  • Providing real audiences to communicate with.

5
Why teach global education?
The new century demands that we develop
international understanding, heighten awareness
of Europe and the wider world, and strengthen the
concept of world citizenship in our schools and
colleges. Prime Minister Tony Blair

Survey of Y9 Students
  • I liked the fact that the information wasn't made
up so I listened more in the lesson.
  • You can get more out of it instead of information
that has been made up from thin air.
  • I liked using real data because I wanted to see
if the medias portrayal of young Americans is
    true.
  • You didnt really know what they were like
because there werent enough core questions to
get a picture of the persons life.
  • I didn't like it that we didn't actually get to
communicate at all with the people we were
    surveying.
  • It gives you a chance to experience a different
    culture.
  • It was interesting to find out real, true
information about what we wanted to find out.
  • I liked the fact that we did this with the USA,
cos they seem cool, and I wanna go there again!
    its great for shopping!!!!
  • Twas' fantab-u-listic.
