  • An adverb is a word used to modify a verb, an
    adjective, or another adverb.
  • Adverbs can come before or after the word or
    words they modify.
  • Remember Modify means to tell more about
  • There are four types of adverbs time, place,
    manner, and degree

Adverbs of time
  • Adverbs of time tell when, how often, and how
    long.
  • tomorrow often always never

  • Adverbs of place tell where, to where, or from
    where.

  • Adverbs of manner often end in ly and tell how
    something is done.

  • Some words used as adverbs can be written with or
    without the ly ending.

  • NOTE Not all words ending in ly are adverbs.
    Lovely, for example, is an adjective.
