About the Performance Portal

• VAMP Project aimed to set up a performance portal
  and community of practice for library
  measurement.
• Why performance?
• Need for tools and frameworks for demonstrating
  accountability
• Persuasive date for University Senior Managers
• Value for money and related measures
• Impact on teaching, learning and research
• Support the case for additional resources, to
  protect existing resource base.
• Access to best practice and sources of expertise

Process for development of the performance portal

• 2006 Information gathering phase critical
  review, SCONUL members survey, gap analysis,
  SCONUL conference workshop.
• 2007-2007 Development phase development and
  testing of tools and website.
• Summer 2007 Launch.

• Descriptions of tools, frameworks and methods
• Community of practice intended to encourage
  mutual engagement and sharing of expertise.
• Blogging tools sharing expertise.
• Wiki users can contribute content, including
  case studies and best practice examples.
