  • Known Restrictions
  • 3d eDrawings
  • When parts are set transparent in OSDM,
transparency cannot be changed in eDrawings
  • Only assemblies and parts are exported. No
    Containers, Workplanes, Docuplanes, Labels,
  • 2d eDrawings
  • For section views and detail views, no shaded
    geometry is shown
  • Hatch angle is not honored Only 45 or 135 deg
    angles are used
  • Special character in dimension text are
    improperly displayed as squares
  • Dimension text with different text styles in not
    honored
  • The line pen size that is the line thickness is
    not reflected to eDrawing.
  • The sheet order in eDrawing is not identical to
    the sheet order in OSDM
  • Supported line types in OSDM and eDrawings
differ. Not all line types might be transferred
    correctly. Nearest match is used.
  • Goodies Exploded Views (based on Formations)
will show the shaded datain its Standard
    Formation position.

  • Troubleshooting What if
  • On publishing, eDrawings doesn't open up
    automatically with the published file
  • Check if any instances of the 'eModelViewer.exe'
    are running in the background.
  • Use the Task Manager to figure this out. Kill any
    instances of the same.
  • Now try publishing from OSDM.
  • If the above does not work, launch the eDrawings
viewer EModelViewer.exe manually. Do this by
    going to ltprimary partitiongt\Program
    Files\Common Files\eDrawings2005 This location
would not change even if you choose to install
    OSDM to a separate location.
  • Once the viewer is up, try publishing once again.
  • If none of the above works, this would probably
suggest that the registry has been corrupted
  • and would warrant a reinstallation of OSD/M via
Add/Remove Programs gtgt OSD/M gtgt Change gtgt
    Repair.
