Chapter 1

• This is about a boy named Stanley and he got sent
  to a camp called Camp Green Lake. There are
  rattle snakes and other animals. Their camp is
  not a fun camp. They dont even have a lake.

Chapter 2

• The parents of the bad boys thought if their boys
  dug holes they would become good. But the judge
  gave Stanley a choice. The judge gave him a
  choice to go to jail or Camp Green Lake and he
  chose Camp Green Lake because he thought it would
  be a regular camp. Stanley was from a poor
  family. He had never been to a camp before.

Chapter 3

• In chapter 3 Stanley is the only one on the bus
  to Camp Green Lake except a guard. Stanley
  thought the camp was going to have a lake, but
  NO. Every time something went wrong he blamed it
  on his no-good-dirty-rotten-pig-steeling-great-gre
  at-grandfather. The bus ride was 9 hours long.

Chapter 4

• In this chapter Stanley gets to Camp Green Lake
  and meets Mr. Sir. Stanley gets orange clothes
  and a canteen. Then he realizes that he doesnt
  get much water and that he digs holes 5ft deep
  and 5ft wide.

Chapter 5

• Stanley gets sent to tent D with boys named
  Squid, X Ray, Magnet, Armpit, ZigZag and Zero.
  His counselor is Mr. Pendanski. Zero is the
  smallest and doesnt know anything. Everybody was
  really dirty.

Chapter 6

• In chapter 6 Stanley was running and some shoes
  fell out of the sky and hit him right on the top
  of his head. It turned out the shoes belonged to
  Clyde Livingston, the famous baseball player. His
  feet smelled.

Chapter 7

• In chapter 7 Stanley had to dig holes that were 5
  feet wide by 5 feet deep. He also had to dig foot
  holes in the side of the hole to get out. Stanley
  was the last one to finish his hole.

Chapter 8

• A yellow spotted lizard has exactly eleven spots
  on it. It also has a milky tongue and red eyes.
  If you get bit by one you die in an amount of
  seconds.

Chapter 9

• Stanley has done his 5 by 5 hole. Like X-Ray
  said the first hole is the hardest and now he has
  finished. The cold water shower felt like 4
  minutes of heaven. He is hot and tired after
  digging a hole. Once after his shower and putting
  on clean clothes, Stanley goes to the wreck room
  and starts to get in a fight with a kid. They
  nicknamed Stanley, Caveman.

Chapter 10

• Stanley is sleeping and its 4.30 am, the time
  that Mr. Sir said that they had to get up,
  because it was the coolest part of day. Stanley
  aches and wants somebody else to dig his hole but
  like X-Ray said the second hole is the hardest.
  Stanley starts to dig and soon finds a fish
  fossil. He waits till the water truck comes and
  digs slowly. Afterward, he sets it face down
  because he doesnt want anybody else to get a day
  off except him. He gets disappointed when
  Mr.Pendanski says, the Warden isn't interested in
  fossils but every body in his group had thought
  it was cool and interesting .

Chapter 11

• Stanley did not know to give X-Ray something
  interesting to take a day off. Stanley could not
  decide if he takes the day off or X-Ray takes the
  day off.

Chapter 12

• Some kids were sitting in a circle and telling
  jokes and they saw Stanley.
  They told him to join them in the circle and
  they all started to say jokes to themselves.

Chapter 13

• Stanley and his friends were talking about other
  holes they are planning to dig. Also Stanley
  found a fossil. He found that fossil that says
  KB.

Chapter 14

• When X-Ray was digging he found a gold tube. He
  was so excited because he thought he was going to
  have a day off.

Chapter 15

• They dug once but they had to double check
  because of what Stanley found. The Warden doesnt
  want them to rush. They think there are cameras
  because the Warden knows their name.

Chapter 16

• Zig Zag is watching a broken T.V. Zero was
  trusting Stanley to talk to him. Also, Stanley
  could not take his mind off the golden tube. The
  warden seemed to get meaner.

Chapter 17

• When Mr. Sir said the camp wasnt for Girl
  Scouts, he was not lying. They were tired of
  digging holes. Armpit was stabbed with a
  pitchfork because he had to use the bathroom.

Chapter 18

• They had dug a hole about 5ft wide and 5ft deep.
  Also Stanley was penetrating at the dirt with his
  shovel. After Stanley dug all those holes he was
  so tired that he couldnt teach Zero how to read
  and write.

Chapter 19

• Stanley had taken the truck, and when he got it
  ready to drive, he crashed. When he went off with
  the truck he just crashed into the hole and he
  got in trouble with Mr. Sir.

Chapter 20

• Stanley had to go to the Wardens cabin because
  he stole Mr. Sir's sunflower seeds. (he was
  covering for Magnet). The Warden put on nail
  polish made from rattlesnake venom. She said it
  was only harmless when it was dry. Then she went
  up to Mr. Sir and slapped him.

Chapter 21

• Stanley was going back to camp and was only an
  inch away from stepping on a rattle snake. Then
  when he got back to his hole it was almost
  finished.

Chapter 22

• Stanley was the first one done. He spat in his
  hole then showered and changed into clean
  clothes. Zigzag said Zero was a mole. X-Ray said
  Zero was a worm.

Chapter 23

• 110 years ago Green Lake was the largest lake in
  Texas and it was fun. It was said that Green Lake
  is like heaven on earth.

Chapter 24

• Mr. Sir choked a boy. Mr. Sir did that because
  the boy said, Hey, what happened to your face?!

Chapter 25

• In chapter 25, Miss Katherine Barlow asked Sam
  to fix the parts of the school house. Miss
  Katherine Barlow kissed Sam. Hattie Parker saw
  Sam and Miss Katherine Barlow kissing.

Chapter 26

• In chapter 26, the whole town tried to kill Sam
  because it was the against the law for a negro to
  kiss a white woman. After the town killed Sam,
  Miss Katherine Barlow became known as Kissing
  Kate Barlow because she killed men and then
  kissed them.

Chapter 27

• In chapter 27 the warden scratches Mr. Sir with
  rattle snake venom. And ever since she scratched
  him, he poured Stanleys water straight to the
  ground.

Chapter 28

• In chapter 28 Sam loves Kate. When ever something
  broke he said, I can fix that. Every day he
  brought her peaches in a jar. He got the peaches
  from his peach tree.

Chapter 29

• In chapter 29 Stanley thought he saw Gods Thumb.
  There is a storm up ahead. Everybody wanted it to
  rain so hard that it would fill up the lake.
  Stanleys great grandfather said he found refuge
  on Gods Thumb after Kate Barlow left him
  stranded in the desert. He lived there for three
  weeks without any food.

Chapter 30

• In chapter 30 Zigzag claims it is his birthday.
  If it really was July 8, Stanley had been at Camp
  Green Lake for 45 days and dug 45 holes. Stanley
  and Zigzag got into a fight because Zigzag wanted
  to dig Stanleys hole.

Chapter 31

• Zero went somewhere that nobody knows where he
  went. They think he ran away and died. Stanley
  thinks Zero is dead.

Chapter 32

• Stanley meets Bryan. They call Bryan Twitch.
  Stanley stole the water truck to go find Zero. He
  drove the water truck in a hole. Bryan had been
  arrested.

Chapter 33

• In chapter 33, Stanley found a family of lizards.
  Then he found a sack of sunflower seeds. He
  called it lunch.

Chapter 34

• In chapter 34, Stanley is still on his journey to
  find Zero. On his way he is seeing things like a
  pool of water which he finds out there is not
  one. After that, Stanley finds a boat called
  Mary Lou. As he was looking around it he saw a
  hole under it and said Hey he then heard
  something say Hey back.

Chapter 35

• Stanley found Zero. They drank Sploosh which was
  over one-hundred years old. He told Zero they
  needed to go back to camp but he didnt want to
  go. Zero saw a boat with Mary Lous name on it.
  It was Sams boat. The Sploosh is Spiced Peaches.

Chapter 36

• They finally made it to the mountain with Big
  Thumb. Zero would vomit every ten minutes. They
  made it to the top of Big Thumb. Zero had big
  gashes on his hands, from holding the shovel
  while Stanley climbed up.

Chapter 37

• Stanley told Zero he ordered his hot fudge sundae
  and they were making it right now. Zero knows how
  to say lunch and bugs. He fell over, grabbed his
  stomach, threw up and didnt get back up.

Chapter 38

• Zero went to the bottom of his hole because he
  saw water and he wanted some. Zero was digging to
  find some water for himself and Stanley. Zero
  thought that he could find a pool.

CHAPTER 39

• Stanley thought about going back down the
  mountain to look for the shovel so he could make
  the water hole deeper.

Chapter 40

• They ate onions to survive and Gladys Tennyson
  was in just a night gown and a robe. Zero said
  the shovel must be buried in some weeds. On the
  way up the mountain, Stanley had to sit down and
  rest several times.

Chapter 41

• Zero admitted he stole Clyde Livingston's shoes.
  The hole was wide at Big Thumb. Stanley and Zero
  put water in their socks.

Chapter 42

• Zero became stronger and got to help Stanley dig
  the whole. When they were done the hole was six
  feet deep. They had more water than ever.

Chapter 43

• Zero says he wasnt always poor but they were
  broke.
• Zeros mom always would clap her hands and sing a
  song to him.

Chapter 44

• This chapter is all about Stanley dug his hole
  all the way back from where he found the capsule.
  They dug till they found the treasure then the
  warden came and then thanked them. What will
  happen next.

Chapter 45

• This chapter is all about the warden calling the
  rest of the counselors. The warden saw lizards.
  They crawled on Stanley and Zero . They hissed
  their black teeth, and their white tongues
  glowed. They were in a yellow spotted lizard nest.

• The Warden, Mr. Sir and Mr. Pendanski tried to
  grab Zero and Stanley out of the hole. But the
  yellow spotted lizards will bite them and that
  equals death. So they did not try to grab them.

• The sun came up and Stanleys heart was pumping.
  There were exactly eight lizards in the hole.
  Zero said, My legs are numb. They came out of
  the hole and the Warden said, Thats impossible
  how they came out alive.

CHAPTER 48

• Stanley was so tired he could hardly think
  straight. He felt as if he was walking in a
  dream. The warden said that Zero could not read.
  Stanley was leaving but he wasnt without Zero.

Chapter 49

• There used to never be yellow spotted lizards in
  the town of Green Lake. A lot of them came for
  lizards juice. Sam sold that in the town of Green
  Lake.

Chapter 50

• It turned out that Camp Green Lake is going to be
  torn down. It turned into a Girl Scout Camp a few
  years later. Stanleys mother does not believe in
  the curse.
