The Wagon

• Conestogas, a kind of wagon, blue with red wheels
• the wagons were pulled usually by oxen
• the wagon was about the size of three desks put
  together
• people didnt ride in the wagon because it was
  too bumpy and uncomfortable
• wagons usually costed 75.00 to 100.00

The Trail

• they had wagon trains
• if you were in the back you would have dust
  blowing in your face all day because of the other
  wagons
• the wagon trails were about four feet deep
• it took six months to get from Independence
  square to Oregon on the Oregon Trail
• they traveled 15 miles a day

The People and Their Cothing

• Girls wore dresses and bonnets
• boys wore pants shirts and hats
• they wore the same clothes more than one day

• Some supplies you needed were
• wagon
• 2 yoke of oxen
• flour
• bacon
• lard
• coffee or tea
• rope
• milking cow
